Infused with a vibrant color sense and a flair for abstraction, Susan Shaw‘s art work reflects her love of landscape. With keen interest in her natural surrounds, she paints to capture its atmosphere and light. Works in porcelain incorporate a sensory experience in clay that extends beyond functional use.

“Painting and ceramics inform each other in unexpected and gratifying ways. Together they satisfy my desire for tactile experience and invite my visual pleasure. My task is finding ways to interpret what I see, what I feel, and what I choose to convey to the viewer – always an ongoing process.”

Shaw is an exhibiting artist member of the Providence Art Club; signature artist, Rhode Island Watercolor Society; elected artist, Art League of Rhode Island; member of Newport Art Museum, South County Art Association, and elected artist member, Mystic Museum of Art, associate member Lyme Art Association.
