Liz McGrath is a graphic designer and editorial illustrator and has been a professional artist for the past 40 years. She uses watercolors and color pencils for illustrations and acrylic paints, when painting. Currently, Liz is focusing on private “Pet”, “Home” and “Pets With Their People” portrait commissions.
She received an Associate in Arts degree from Chamberlayne Jr. College in Boston, MA.
Liz began her career as a graphic designer and editorial illustrator for magazine publications. Her passion for illustrating led to creating art for the children’s market. She has 2 children’s books published, EVEN MORE (Raven Tree Press, 2004) and THE GHOULS COME HAUNTING ONE BY ONE (Pelican Publishing, 2010).
She has also created paintings for the healthcare environment, including the “Porthole” series displayed at Hasbro Children’s Hospital. There are also paintings and illustrations of her art on display at Rhode Island Hospital and Women & Infants Hospital.
In 2016 Liz was awarded a month long Artist-in-Residence at spectacular Acadia National Park, in Maine.
She works from her home studio in Providence, where she lives with her graphic designer husband, Tim. Their daughters, Caleigh and Maeve, are pursuing their own creative endeavors in CA and PA, respectively.
