Carol Schmedinghoff describes her work: “I like to think of my work as capturing little snapshots of nature. My artwork features hand carved birds set in matted frames. The birds are placed in three-dimension habitats, set against hand painted sky. The birds’ habitats feature natural materials from my “gatherings” or pieces I have made by hand. like miniature clay flowers and ‘wrought iron’ fences.”
